He knows what to say and when to say it. The young man is a very social creature who holds his own around both his peers and his elders. Adults and youth alike always love him. He sweet-talks girls and shoots the shit with guys like nobody’s business. This talent, combined with his social and economic standing, means that no one has ever been able to say no to Tony. Not that they feel bullied into saying yes—he’s just the kind of person that you want to say yes to. The down side of this is that when he is denied what he desires, Tony has a tendency to not take it too well. CARING Truthfully, Tony does care about other people. When he’s in a relationship, he treats his girl like a princess. His friends and family mean everything to him and he would do anything for them. Tony hates to upset people; growing up he was always given lots of praise and affection. Being told that people are upset with him or that he’s done something wrong is really hard for the young man, especially because he is such a people person. Tony is the kind of guy to do community service on the weekends, and Big Brother after school, simply because he likes helping others. When Tony has decided that you are worth being a part of his life, he’ll stand by you no matter what. OVERCONFIDENT There is not a single person who knows him that would say Tony has issues with confidence. He knows that he’s handsome, great personality, with great grades, a good arm, and the money to match. He shows off what he has with nice clothes and a flashy car, and isn’t in the least shy about it. The young man can walk into a room and not worry a bit about what people think when they see him. Everyone has always adored him; his assumption is that they always will. Having dated a few girls over the years, Tony has never been dumped. Girls fall all over him for his attention, and he doesn’t mind one bit. SELF-CENTERED Even though he cares a lot about other people, Tony has a tendency to forget how his actions affect others. Both came from proud, wealthy families (Derrick’s being black, Michelle’s being white) and had traditional values. Derrick didn’t want to have children until he was financially successful (independently from his trust fund) so he started he worked in the financial sector for years before starting a boutique private equity firm in his early thirties. They didn’t begin trying for a baby until Michelle was 31. She had three miscarriages before finally having Anthony when she was 33. After invitro and hormone treatments, he was their miracle baby. Adalee, Derrick’s mother, immediately moved into the Young mansion to assist in the raising of the precious little boy. He was never to have a nanny or a baby sitter. If his mother wasn’t around to dote on him, Nana was more than happy to step in and watch him for as long as they liked. He was showered with toys and clothes; praised for every little sign intellect or physical excellence. Every weekend was an outing to the best parks, museums and performances money could buy. When school came, Anthony started out in private schools. However, the young man grew to detest uniforms, along with the strict rules and snotty attitudes of the school. His parents reluctantly allowed him to transfer to the public school system right before sixth grade. Tony was destined for instant popularity. Everyone looked up to him and loved his charming personality. It wasn’t hard for him to slip in with the other royals, in designer clothes and a top sports car.
