. FULL NAME Angus Leon Gaffney . NICKNAMES "Angst" . GENDER male . AGE seventeen . BIRTHDAY February 14th . SEXUAL ORIENTATION heterosexual . GRADE junior . GROUP strangers . CLIQUE transfers . OCCUPATION n/a . CURRENT RESIDENCE house . FACE CLAIM first Rupert Grint . ALIAS mistletoe . CODE WORD picture perfect
- - - - PERSONA. positive traits QUIET: Angus is the quiet type. Really, really quiet. He doesn't like to draw attention to himself through words or actions, and nothing about his attitude even draws attention. The only attraction is his bright, coppery hair, really. He doesn't talk much, and prefers to listen rather than talk.
SHY: He's a pretty shy boy, too. Angus rarely will make an effort to go introduce himself to someone; he waits for them to come to him. He gets embarrassed easily around strangers and tends to avoid other people unconsciously.
OBSERVANT: He's a very observant boy, and notices lots of things about other people so he can make a breakdown of their personality. The fact that Angus hardly ever talks contributes to his perceptive abilities - he can astound some people with the secrets he knows.
GENTLE: Angus is a very gentle boy, not prone to violence of fist or tongue. He can be patient this way, willing to coax about anything if he needs to. He doesn't like to hurt other people and is always very careful about practically everything he does.
KIND: He is a kind young man, thoughtful and considerate of others. He is very polite and has good manners, but he is willing to listen to other people (especially his friends) pour out their problem. He hates to hurt people and generally treats other people like walking on eggshells.
Angus is an overall pleasant young man, but his shyness and quietness can be rather exasperating at times for certain people. He would be good in a romantic relationship due to his naturally attractive personality as a lover; however, friends wouldn't come quickly to him because of his shyness. Angus is an optimistic boy, beyond his general timidity and anxiety. He is a good family member, willing to cooperate and create harmony in the household. He is meticulous and hard-working, and can be trusted to get a job done thoroughly (slowly, perhaps, but it would be well finished).
. negative traits TIMID: Angus is a timid boy, as a result of his shyness. He tends to almost be intimidated by other people, which is a surprise because of his tall, broad-shouldered build. He is often dissuaded by the littlest things and insults; one could not expect Angus to throw himself into a fight.
OVERTHINKING: Angus tends to overthink. A lot. He may decide to do something and think better against it before making up his mind to do it and backing out again at any time.
ANXIOUS: Angus is an anxious teenager, always worrying about things and fearing the worst will happen. He isn't one to lean out over the edge, preferring to stay back on solid, safe ground. However, his anxiety doesn't show through his emotions; it's bottled up inside him, and he comes across as a very laid-back sort of person.
NEUTRAL: Angus's one biggest problem (especially in relationships) is that he tends to come across as neutral. He may not seem loyal to people because he won't outwardly stick up for them - while his faithfulness to his friends is strong on the inside, he always tries to avoid fighting and will make neutral comments when asked for his opinion.
While Angus is generally an optimistic boy, his anxiety can work his inside feelings up to a frenzy, assisted by his timidity and overthinking nature. Beyond his kind, caring nature, romantic relationships could come hard because of his neutrality. On the outside, he is collected and quiet (if a little sober looking) but on the inside, his brain and heart are constantly working and spinning.
. likesmusic, Scotland, dogs, clouds, rain, cookies, drawing, reading, green, his family, pizza, the number five, hugs, blond hair, horses . dislikesbeing hot, bullies, too much attention, fighting, arguing, excessive piercings, tattoos, too much drinking, smoking, talking on the phone, math, spiders, heights, being made fun of, others being made fun of . dreams and secrets DREAMS: Angus doesn't have the biggest ambitions in the world, but he fervently desires to move back to Scotland and marry, and have a few kids and write/illustrate children's books. He would like to just be left alone in the world, and for bullies to be completely depressed (though he knows both of those are impossible, they ARE dreams, after all).
and
SECRETS: Angus's only really big secret is that he IS capable of inflicting serious damage when called upon. His younger brother, Faolan, was ten years old when fifteen-year-old Angus came across him being bullied by a few jocks from his school. Angus quietly told them to stop, that bullying wasn't nice and that it got people no where, but they laughed at him and continued to push Faolan around before turning on him and teasing him. Angus suddenly burst into a fit of anger and fury, flinging himself at the three teenagers. Granted, they were quite surprised that he had physically attacked them, and in the end they came out looking much, much worse than Angus did. The boy never told anybody, but the rumors spread around the school. He was held in a new sort of respect, though the bullies didn't cease to poke at him occasionally.
- - - - HISTORY FATHER: Richard Gaffney MOTHER: LeAnne Gaffney BROTHERS: Cluney (19), James (18), Faolan (12) SISTERS: none OTHER: Grandpa Zachery PETS: Rosie (Border Collie)
BIRTH/EARLY CHILDHOOD/PARENTING: Richard and LeAnne Gaffney were the proud parents of two young boys when Angus came along. He was born in a quiet little hospital just like two and one year old Cluney and James were, and with less complications - gentle from the start! The Gaffneys were, like their son, both gentle and quiet, but they had a sort of parental firmness and strictness that was not to be ignored. They kept the family bond tight, and when Faolan came along as their last child they were a closely knit group. Taught respect for the female race, their elders, and really everyone else, they grew up as quiet and well-mannered as their parents. Perhaps taken from their parents, the boys (Angus included) developed a sort of unconscious skill to keep all emotion from their face though their insides might be twisting. They adapted their parents' gentle habits and rather shy personalities, growing up to be very well-rounded (albeit shy) children.
RELATIONSHIP WITH SIBLINGS: Angus's relationship with his siblings was all very well; they didn't really fight much, having nothing to fight about, but he always thought it seemed as though his love for his siblings was a taught factor by his parents. He could try to find a reason to not love them, but there didn't seem to be one and Angus was even a little disappointed that their family values were so tight set. It was a "you HAVE to love him, he's your brother" sort of system. Angus thinks of Cluney as a role model and admires him, but he and James always seemed to have the biggest issues. Angus and Faolan were the closest of the bunch, always sticking together tightly especially after he protected Faolan from the bullies. Cluney and James stuck together majorly, and Angus and Faolan stuck together. It was their way of doing things. Angus and Faolan would often talk about things; Faolan was and is an inspiration for Angus, with his unorthodox (for the Gaffney family, anyways) optimistic and friendly light on life.
SCHOOL EXPERIENCES: Angus never had the most pleasant school experiences as a whole. He got on well with everyone (it was a small school through elementary, junior high, and high), despite his shy and quiet personality, but everything was chaos with the three oppressive bullies: Jack, Martin, and Murray. Angus never physically fought with them, always enduring their tormenting (until he stood up for Faolan and fought them to protect him). Other students would lightly scold the bullies and try to keep them from attacking Angus constantly, but no one ever made a real move to really protect him. He never expected anyone to and still doesn't to this day, and they didn't.
DAY-TO-DAY LIFE: Angus's days, especially through his childhood, were pleasant beyond the bully-factor.

- - - - THE WRITER ( MISTLETOE ). sample Havana slid onto the bench, placing her tray on the table and dropping her bag and sweater between her legs on the ground. Humming softly, she popped open her milk carton and raised it to her lips, instinctively dropping her napkin onto her lap - and paused mid-sip, as a rather nervous teenager set his tray just across from hers. Her wide, hazel eyes were fixed on his as he mumbled apologetic words. She broke from her haze, pursing her lips to remove any milk from them, and nodded, setting down her carton. He was...honestly...the cutest guy she'd probably ever seen. Was he? Havy shyly peered at his face for a quick moment, and decided he was. She raised her napkin to her mouth, wiping it carefully. He looked to be about seventeen or so, and she couldn't recall seeing him before. She might have made a joke about him coming to sit at the table, such as pretending it was just hers or whatever, but he seemed too nervous to notice. Better to keep it simple for now. "Oh, go ahead, I don't mind." Havana glanced down at her tray quickly, considering touching one of the less-than-appetizing fries, before raising her eyes to look at him again. He was tall, with golden-blond hair and weary, anxious blue eyes. He had an athletic build, tall, with broad shoulders, and a handsome face. In Havy's opinion, it was rare to find a guy who was both blond and hot...so perhaps this was her lucky day.
Wait, why was she thinking like that?
"Hi, I'm Havana." She carefully introduced herself, holding out her hand across the table instinctively for him to shake. Best way to get to know someone was to start with saying "hi". "I'm new here, so I don't know anyone, really. I'm afraid I don't recognize you...what's your name?" Havana inquired, with a small, unknowingly rather charming smile. Perhaps her flirty side, if she had one, was coming out.
