PROPER amber's family are very strict. they believe that woman should be raised to be proper ladies, and respect everyone around them. because of this, amber had many lessons on speaking with proper english and had all those lessons that girls dread. she was forced to practice walking gracefully by having a book on her head, eating with the proper utensils and she is scolded if her posture is anything less than perfect. this tends to make people believe that she thinks she is better than they are, but it is not the case at all. INNOCENT if it wasn't for health class, amber wouldn't even know what sex was. in her mind, even hugging a boy is something that should be saved until their fifth date, and their first three dates should be escorted by a parent. she strongly believes until waiting until marriage for sex, and drugs and alcohol are not even a thought in her mind. her family allows her to drink wine or champagne on special occasions and never enough to get even the slightest buzz. INTELLIGENT amber is a smart girl. she sends quite a bit of time in the library, and would probably be considered a nerd if she didn't push so many people away from her. she reads quite often, her favourite types of novels being the true classics. however, if you were to ask amber if she was intelligent, she would answer with her honest opinion of "no." she gets down on herself if she misses even one question, and will even ask teachers for extra credit projects when she is already getting a very high mark in the class. LOYAL it takes amber a very long time to warm up to someone, but once she is finally close enough to call someone a friend, she will be absolutely loyal until the end. of course, she would not stand up for them in a fight due to the fact that she doesn't believe in violence, but she will swear on her soul that they are right and attempt to ease away from fighting with some talk of compromise and peace. even loners get lonely, so when amber makes a friend, she intends on keeping them a friend. OBEDIENT this could be either a good or bad thing. amber does not stand well under pressure, and she always wants to please other people. therefore, she ends up doing pretty much anything someone tells her to do. if it is pouring rain outside and you want a coffee, ask her politely if she will go buy you one and she will agree. she cannot say no to anyone, and will bend herself until she breaks under their will. DISTANT due to the fact that she is very uncomfortable around strangers and in crowds, and the fact that it is rare to even get a sentence out of her, amber is very distant from other people. she eats lunch alone, sits in class quietly and does not participate in the conversations around her and usually sits and reads a book in the corner of the library by herself during free period. this tends to push people away quite a bit. THE STORY born to a wealthy governor and a primary school teacher, amber had high expectations set on her from the moment she was born. her parents pretty much had her life planned out for her, making her the perfect lady through elementary school, piano and violin lessons in middle school, perfect grades in high school and acceptance into a high standing university to go on into the political field. during her childhood, she did not have time to go out and play with the other children in her neighbourhood due to her busy schedules made by her parents. the young girl would attend half day kindergarden and return home for her etiquette lessons. saturdays were dedicated to studying whatever her parents felt needed to be worked on, and sunday was church day. this made amber a very lonely child, and she drew within herself more and more as she got older. through first to third grade, she spoke only to her parents, her teacher and her doll annabelle. kids picked on her and thought she was weird for not speaking, and she would simply stand there and take it, tears running down her cheeks. eventually, they got tired of teasing the mute girl and went on to better victims. watching her cry got boring after awhile. her parents were very happy to have such an obedient child, however they found out very soon that she wasn't only listening to their every demand, but those from others as well. when amber was in sixth grade, a man asked her to help him find his puppy and of course, the girl agreed. she would have been snatched, had another kid hadn't caught her before she got into the van with the man. this boy grew to become a friend of amber's until eighth grade, when her parents decided he was a bad influence and told her not to speak to him. and she didn't. she cut the boy out of her life rather cruelly, giving him the silent treatment until he learned to leave her alone. when she arrived at kimball in her freshmen year, the teasing started fresh. kids who hadn't known her through elementary school thought she was strange, and she earned the nickname 'mutie' pretty fast. she's attempted to lay low during high school, to stay out of everyone's way. her goal is to be kind and gentle with absolutely everyone she meets, so they couldn't possibly hate her. so far, the strategy seems to work for her.
