OCCUPATION Barista at the School Coffee Shop. FACE CLAIM Dianna Agron PERSONALITY Perfectionist— Adelyn is the type of person that always sought perfection, or at least making sure that everything she does is as concise as possible. She believes in karma, love at first sight, everything happens for a reason, there is a higher power above and that if you give enough you will be rewarded. However, she does know that the world isn't as simple as she'd like it to be. She feels the need to constantly prove herself and give a hundred and ten perfect in everything she does, even if others aren't trying as hard as she is. The people around her would probably say that she is devoted, restless and constantly on the hunt for something to do. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does - and not just her work. It takes a great mental effort to make things look or feel like they are actually perfect. Ever since she was little, Adelyn felt sort of responsible to make her life as best as it could be and the focus has always been there. This is a characteristic that her parents, her father mostly, played a large part in; every Friday was a beating. Not literally of course but her father would pull her grades from the computer and review each individual paper, test and assignment. Zeros were unacceptable and you simply didn’t go home if you knew that you received anything short of an A+. A Friday wasn’t a typical Friday; she wasn’t sneaking out to party or to go gallivant with some young boy, much rather she was preparing for the up-coming week with her head buried in books; it was one thing her father approved of and this excuse of ‘studying’ tended to alleviate her having to be toted off to one of her mother’s Soirées. Lady-Like— “The qualities of a Lady A lady should be quiet in her manners, natural and unassuming in her language, careful to wound no one’s feelings, but giving generously and freely from the treasures of her pure mind to her friends. Scorning no one openly, she should feel gentle pity for the unfortunate, the inferior and the ignorant, at the same time carrying herself with an innocence and single heartedness which disarms ill nature, and wins respect and love from all.” --The Victorian Station Each young woman who was enrolled in Lady Gwendolyn’s class learned this phrase by heart. A School For Young Ladies , Adelyn went to this school for a year; Monday through Friday for two hours a-day. The classes didn’t interest her in the sense that she wanted to necessarily live in that manner but more like it gave her clarity and understanding as to why some of the women act the way they do in the books she chose to read. At each and every-party, ball or debut Adelyn was nothing short of a lady, pristine posture, elegant use of speech, and demure demeanor. As she grew older these parties became more daunting and tedious so she used the excuse of ‘studying’ in order to stay home and sometimes in order to sneak-out to a friend’s house; but she wouldn’t dare tell her parents that. A Misunderstood Introvert— Towards her environment, Adelyn can be quiet or even disconnected. People often misinterpret it as arrogance or apathetic when that isn't the case. When she was younger, the other kids would ask her why she didn't talk as much as everyone else and would assume that she was shy when she wasn't. She isn't someone that gets attached easily and she used to be a lot more accessible and friendly towards the world, but a lot has changed in the past given years. Adelyn was never naturally shy or anything like that, but she is just extra careful around everyone else, especially guys. She's always been more of a listener than a talker. Despite everything that has happened to her, she isn't bitter or aggressive since that isn't in her nature at all. Adelyn is just very skeptical about letting certain people into her life. Once she feels more secure around someone and allows the barriers to melt away, then you can see the real Adelyn, however, while you might think that this behavior would deter people away from her it almost plays into her lady-like demure and attractive-ness. Instead of pushing people away they always seem to feel compelled to have a conversation or even linger for a moment longer in her presence. Now this isn’t saying that everyone just basks in her glory or that she is almost god-like; but rather a joy and pleasure to be around. When people got to know the real-Adelyn you can guarantee they won’t forget her and to be honest she has a plethora of friends. Independent— Adelyn is someone who's truly not bound by any limits. All her life Margaret and Robert gave her the tools for success and made sure that she was able to achieve and have anything she ever wanted as long as she worked for it…if only love came that easy. Love is beautiful and enchanting but Adelyn never really experienced that—sure there were the boys in High School but how could you call those measly dates and awkward moments love? At times it was something she mulled over and other times she thanked the good Lord above that she wasn’t some knocked up teenager with no support system. Many of her friends seemed to be bound by those chains of love and ever-since she moved there is only one person who has been able to make those chains bearable. Adelyn could be described as curious, intellectual and free spirited which plays into why she usually chooses to surround herself with many people rather than just one. This young woman never finds a reason to necessarily rely on another human being when she can accomplish the task herself; within reason that is…her struggle to maintain her own independence might get in the way sometimes but it makes her a better person for it. HISTORY MOTHER Margaret Jane Kipling FATHER Robert Elijah Kipling BROTHERS None SISTERS None PETS Cleo, Goldfish OTHER None THE STORY Adelyn's childhood was idealistic. Early on, she developed a love for learning, to the point where her kindergarten teachers were suggesting she move up a grade or two. The Kiplings were enthused with the prospect of having their daughter skip forward a grade-level, no matter the cost or the price in which their daughter would pay socially. However, Adelyn continued to move ahead in her studies. While most kids her age were ready Doctor Seuss and the Hungry Caterpillar and things of that nature, Adelyn was eagerly devouring Chapter Books and soon moving on to The Scarlet Letter and Great Expectations. She found her niche in British Literature, especially Shakespeare. The poetic devices and the words seemed to transport her to a world un-like her own. From the day that Margaret and Robert first took Adelyn into their arms, they raised her a lady. Adelyn supported this one-hundred percent, wanting nothing more than to be just like the women in her books. She did ballet to improve her posture and balance. She helped with fundraising projects and charity affairs. She went to Church every Sunday. She spoke well in public, especially to young children and the elderly. No matter what, she was kind and charitable. Adelyn was always a lady, through and through. She wouldn't go as far to say she was spoiled by her parents, but Adelyn definitely didn't want for much. She received plenty of attention from Robert and Margaret. Every single day, Robert would pick her up from school. They'd go home, have a quick snack, and Adelyn would head out to the tennis court with Margaret. She wasn't wonderful at the sport, but she loved her feeling of the coarse yellow ball in one hand, racket in the other, sun beating down on her. Adelyn had all of their attention- she was the one who had completed their lives, and they were convinced that nothing could ever replace her in their hearts. Adelyn's seventh year was one that she considered most influential in making her the woman she is. For one, that was the year she was told about being adopted. She had always been a bright, curious girl, and when she casually brought up the fact that she far from resembled her dark-haired, green-eyed 'parents,' Margaret and Robert couldn't find the strength to lie to their little girl. They told her the truth, expecting to have a temper tantrum of some sort to deal with. Adelyn's reaction was far from expected, however. She took it very well, understanding that her birth mother had done the right thing in giving her up and setting her up for a better life. She handled the whole situation with a grace far above her seven years. That year was also when Adelyn was introduced into the world of Upper-Class living, each weekend she was dolled up and paraded around by her overly-enthusiastic parents. It was a whirl-wind of fluffy-overly-exaggerated pink/white dresses, cotillion classes, small finger sandwiches, delicate cups of tea, little white gloves and the ever-tiring story about how she was an exceptionally intelligent and charming young lady. When Adelyn was twelve, she read Romeo and Juliet for the first time, and fell in love with it from the start. The idea of star-crossed lovers, running off to get married was one of the most amazing thoughts she had ever had. It was beautiful; she almost wished she could live it, besides the whole tragedy ending part. Her parents knew she was obsessed, and for her sixteenth birthday, they brought her to Verona, Italy. Home of her many daydreams, her favorite fairytale. That trip to Verona was the most memorable week and three days that Adelyn had ever experienced. They'd seen all the sights, and Adelyn's heart had nearly stopped beating when they had walked through the Istoria novellamente ritrovata di due Nobili Amanti. Adelyn had placed her wish inside Juliet's wall, and touched the breast of Juliet's bronze statue. She had stood on the balcony, overlooking the city. The very one that so many hopeful lovers had stood on before, it was magical. On that trip, Margaret and Robert told Adelyn the big news- Margaret was pregnant. She had been trying for years- and this was even more surprising, she was already 41. This was their absolute last chance to have a baby, and they were very excited. Adelyn tried to catch their enthusiasm, but was more confused than anything. Her parents had never had the guts for the birds-and-bees talk, and Adelyn had passed out in health class the year before. Really, the only information she had on the subject was what she had gathered from the words of her friends, maybe a magazine here or there. When they returned home after the most memorable vacation Adelyn could have imagined, she was surprised to see her Aunt Catharine's car in the driveway, her bags in the guest room, and the old lady herself plopped in front of the TV. Margaret quickly explained that they might need a little help around now with a new baby; Robert did have to work, after all. This was not Adelyn's first time meeting her Aunt, and she knew how the lady functioned. She was a busybody, into everyone's business, always putting her two cents in. Before, she had treated Adelyn with a distant respect. This time, however, now that she was here for a while, things were different. All responsibility shifted to Adelyn- "Your mother is pregnant, for god's sake! And I'm an old woman!" Adelyn didn't mind the errands and work, but she was used to being looked upon as an equal by all, not as an inferior. The twins didn’t make it into this world which seemed to send Margaret into a down-ward spiral, one that caused her to stay holed up in her bedroom all hours of the day and night. Everyone fussed over her, and Adelyn was left with all the mundane, full-time tasks, such as cleaning and still having to maintain her good grades. Aunt Betty practically ignored her when not yelling at her, and Robert had his hands full with Margaret. There were no more rides from school or afternoon tennis matches, only dusting and homework and listening to everyone mutter hushed words about how they suspected that Margaret had gone over the deep-end. Yes, things were different, but Adelyn tried to tell herself she didn't mind; Margaret wasn’t well and there for required more attention. Adelyn had been willing to bear the brunt of living in a house with a Psychotic Mother and Overly-Exerted Father; but when absolutely nobody showed up at her Graduation because of un-for-seen events with Margaret Adelyn had enough. Scouring the Newspapers she found a small efficiency apartment that would suite her nicely; granted it wasn’t anything near the grandeur living she was raised around but it would do just nicely. It took a week’s worth of convincing to have Robert agree to allow her to move out of the home but she made a deal that he could still check her grades and if there was any slacking to be detected she would move back home. Anything to get out of that house. That is where her real-life began… BEHIND THE MASK ALIAS Trixie AGE Twenty-Two EXPERIENCE Seven or Eight Years. FOUND US Random Site. Looking away Winifred looked to the clock that hung up on the wall at the small Pet Shoppe; Jared usually called her by this time. This caused her to scrunch up her face in disappointment before she began to pack up her things, putting miscellaneous items back into her messenger bag. Normally, if Jared got out early he would come and walk her home; those short moments in the day were so nice. They didn't always get a chance to see each other since Mr. Smith had him working most of the days during the week and even weekends these days. Either way she just enjoyed seeing him and having a good time... Checking her phone once more she reluctantly exited the little shop, looking back and forth she still saw no sign of the boy that she couldn't quite get out of her head. There was just something about the way he looked at her when he thought she wasn't looking or was always there for her. Shoving her hands into her pockets she kept her gaze locked on the cement as it passed beneath her feet. As she neared closer to her apartments she looked around once more thinking that maybe...just maybe Jared will have surprised her and shown up at her apartment instead, but why would he have done that? It made little sense to her, unfortunately that little glimmer of hope was shot down as fast as it had sprung up. Out of habit she reached into her small mailbox and felt around; grabbing a handful of papers that was a mixture of bills and other useless pieces of paper she pulled out her key and let herself into her own apartment throwing down the stack of envelopes on her counter before going into her room and tossing her bag upon her bed and watching Dopey yawn before sitting back on his hind legs and looking for Jared, lately the little ferret had really grown to like the boy, sure Dopey used to try to scare Jared in the beginning but now she would usually find the little guy curled up next to the boy who had seemed to capture her heart- woah! Win mentally kicked herself, they weren't even 'official' just close friends right? She couldn't help but wince; she really did care about him! Groaning, the young woman ran her hands over her warm and slightly flushed cheeks, Jared always had that effect on her. Going back into the living room she picked up the stack of mail and began sorting through it, "Bill, bill, junk, junk, letter from Jared, bill, ju- What?" Grabbing the letter she began to tear it open, throwing the empty envelope to the side she scanned over it then reread it once more. What was he talking about? Why would he just send a letter and not come say goodbye? He was telling her that he would be gone for a while...without rhyme or reason. Quickly going to her phone she flipped it open and dialed Jared's number with shaky hands. It began to ring monotonously. "Please pick up. Pick up. Pick up." It then went to voicemail, her mouth fell slightly agape as she hung up and set her phone aside for the time being. Maybe he is just busy; Win told herself over and over again but still--too busy to send a text or something? He had to send her a note saying he was leaving?! No way! She had to at least tell him that she loved him before he left...what if something happened to him? Pushing those thoughts away she prepared herself to sleep it off, tossing on some comfy pajamas she climbed into bed. I love you Jared... Getting up the next morning was easy as she rushed about her apartment, feeding Dopey, getting in the shower, getting ready, and almost running to Jared's apartment. That night she had been unable to sleep and had called the local airport to hear that a private jet was the only thing leaving for Paris. Rushing as fast as she could she left the apartment, looking up at the dreary sky she frowned, it was not the kind of weather that brought good things. The young woman bounded down the concrete with his letter clasped tightly her fist, the heels tapping against the concrete while the floral summer dress swirled around her knees. When she got close to his place she spotted him walking out to a rather nice Limo, he didn't seem too happy. "Jared! Stop!" Waving she watched one of his security guards take note of her and rush him into the car even faster before it sped off. "No! Wait--please. Please stop!" Running after it she finally stopped when it hit the main street. Quickly running she raced to the airport, she had no time to wait for someone to come get her and then take her there...okay...so Win wasn't really the running type but she earnestly tried; she had to tell him! It took her quite a while to get there but it only made things more burdensome that that she had to run in the rain; bolting through the sliding doors she rushed to the gate number that she had found out from the attendant she had talked to. Seeing Jared walking towards the plane she yelled out as loud as she could muster which...seemed to draw everyone's attention, "JARED STOP PLEASE!!" Win tried to stop but her shoes were wet and she ended up slipping backwards and landing roughly on the tile floor. So she sat there in a heap, her dressing was sticking to her and her hair was wet and hanging against her face. "Please stop...don't leave without saying good..." Looking down she felt the tears bubbling up as she kept her gaze on the ground not sure if he would even come back to her at this rate... She just wanted him to stop. |
