He loves the outdoors and everything it has to offer. He finds it as a sanctuary away from everything else in the world. He likes to explore and find new areas that many people don't know about so he can relax and forget about the world there. On the flip side, he loves being dangerous and daring with his friends which can sometimes cause trouble but for the most part it is all in good fun. Anything that is going to be an adventure, Stephen is expected to be there. INTELLIGENT One wouldn't know it from looking at the outside of Stephen and he is one of the kids at school who people don't believe will make it to the real world. However, Stephen is actually quite intelligent but tends to keep it secret from everyone at school. He is more known around the place as a "bad boy" or "rebel." If you were to get into a intellectual discussion, Stephen would most likely keep his mouth shut unless you were his closest friends which he does not have many of. He knows he can go far but he doesn't like to "show off." ANGER Stephen's family history isn't the prettiest and his childhood was far from picture perfect. His mother passed away when he was young and his father wasn't always the happiest man on the planet and was actually quite abusive towards Stephen and his younger brother Matthew. Stephen was the type of rebellious teenager who tried as much as possible to get out of his house but sometimes it wasn't enough. Stephen has had cases of vicious outbreaks during school and has been suspended and served more detentions than he could possibly remember. He refuses counseling or any other interaction where he has to tell people his feelings. He is the kind of person that likes to bottle things up and when they come out they tend to violent. ANTISOCIAL Unlike most other athletes Stephen isn't a big socialite. He tends to stick to his close friends and not stray too far from that. Sure he plays sports and gets along with the guys on the team but they aren't real his "crowd." Stephen enjoys being alone and away from the society he believes he does not belong in. He pushes a lot of people away and trusts basically no one. In high school it isn't easy being antisocial and especially not when you are the new kid in town. When you know no one, that is the scariest thing in the world. HISTORY MOTHER Anna Belle Banther (Deceased) FATHER Michael Bruce Banther BROTHERS Matthew James Banther SISTERS None PETS Hunter - Golden Retriever OTHER Grace Lynn Banther (Step Mother) Taylor Margret Jackson (Aunt - Mother's Sister) Anthony Christopher Jackson (Uncle - by Marriage) THE STORY Born in a small house just outside of the busy city of Indianapolis, Indiana to the parents of Michael and Anna Banther was their first son, Stephen. A healthy, beautiful baby boy. The most innocent baby. He was the "God's Child" to many family friends since he was always so quiet and stayed still very often. He did not know what was going on as he was held by his mother but he was always calm in her arms. Unfortunately this could not last forever as both mother and son continued to grow. Three years later, Anna had another baby boy who was named Matthew. After he was born, she became very ill and was hospitalized just shortly after the baby was brought home. Things were not looking good and her health was declining fast. Within weeks, she was gone. At the age of three, Stephen did not really understand what had happened but he cried every day his mother was not holding him. Michael was now a single father of two young children and he knew it was not going to be easy. After five years (Stephen was 8), Michael lost his job and was on the search in order to maintain his family. He found a low paying construction job near Boston, Massachusetts and off the Banther family went. This is where Stephen and his brother grew up. His neighborhood was not the prettiest or best place for two young boys to grow up. It was a rough and tough, only the strong survive kind of area. Michael took on two jobs as he worked construction during the day and a night shift at a local convenience store. During this time, Michael met Grace Tollder (now Grace Banther) who got married only after about half a year of knowing each other. This disgusted the young Stephen and was most likely the turning point in his emotional state of mind. His life at home changed as his father and step mother were both not the nicest people as the both worked many hard hours and were beyond stress. This is when the abuse started and only escalated from there. School was one place Stephen loved to be only because he was not home. He enjoyed learning and being with people who weren't his father and step mother. He became very bonded with one in-particular teacher who pushed his throughout his years of school. A father figure so to speak. This one man put Stephen on a pedestal because he knew he had a great mind beneath all the corruption. This was Stephen's reason for striving for success until he reached freshmen year of high school. Things went from bad to worse in the Banther household as Stephen was continually abused and bombarded with curses and hateful words. Stephen was now pushed over the edge as he packed up his things and ran away from home. He didn't know where he was going but just couldn't be there any longer than he already was. He was gone for a few days but eventually returned since he couldn't leave his brother behind in this mess. After two years of high school, Stephen's Aunt Taylor had heard the terrible things that had been happening in the Banther household as well as Stephen almost flunking out of school and get expelled for his violent behavior towards other students. This is how Stephen ended up in Oregon. Aunt Taylor took Michael Banther to court for custody of Stephen and Matthew and won. Now after years of abuse he was finally free but not from himself.T Things could either get better or they could get worse at this nice place. We'll just have to find which way the pendulum swings. Stephen laid alone in the middle looking up at the stars. This was getaway, this was where he felt most at home. Here he believed he could look into to heaven and see his mother's smiling face. It made him cry every time. He enjoyed the solitude and the freedom of being able to escape from the busy everyday life in his new home. He was used to the frantic streets filled with cars and people but it wasn't the same as the place as he grew up. He didn't know where he fit in or where he really belonged. He barely knew anything at this point. Being in Portland for only a few days he had no idea what to expect when the first day of school came along. He never really had to make new friends or anything before really. Sure, he had moved when he was younger but all he really remembers is the friends he met in Massachusetts. The fear was sort of taking him over but the silence of the starry night kept him calm just like his mother did when he was a young child in her arms. He tried to recall memories but he was really too young to remember. All he knew was from stories and pictures around his old home. He wanted her to be here with him. He knew she would of taken care of him. The anger continued to build inside Stephen like it always had. He had no one to talk to, no one to run to, he was truly alone. In a new environment, a new lifestyle, and many new things in the near future. This was a scary start to what was supposed to be a new beginning for him. "I love you mom." he whispered to himself as he got up to head back to his "home." He zipped up his coat and headed out. Tomorrow would be a new day and a step forward into the new and frightening future. |
