Thanks to her general kindness, almost every clique she drifts to has a hard time shoving her away. She gets along with almost everyone she meets, and even if people annoy her she's very good at keeping her temper under control. Of course there are limits to such control, and sometimes she'll snap, but more often than not you'll be on her good side. If you're not, well.. then, probably no one else in this school can stand you. TOLERANT She accepts alot of what happens to her, she's very good at letting things go and moving on. Not too many people look to bother the pretty girl, but those who do won't get the reaction they're probably looking for. She can stand alot of insults and alot of stupidity, and even when they insult her friends she's pretty good at handling it calmly rather than childishly fighting back. The two exceptions to her tolerance are the sluts and the men who think they're "all that." These types are the only ones that can send her into a frenzy in an instant. UNEASY Easily frightened and always on edge, you could probably get a good reaction out of her on Halloween. She may act calm on the outside like nothing can make her take a double-take, but she's a very nervous person. She hates getting things wrong, and if she screws up too bad on a test she'll probably pout for a good day or two. It's not that she strives to be perfect, she's just always afraid that, in doing one thing wrong, she's made a complete fool of herself. She doesn't want people to have a reason to laugh at her. She's always looking over her shoulder, as if someone's stalking her, though it isn't too noticeable to others. LOW SELF-ESTEEM She tends to think very little of herself, always telling herself she could be doing better. The young girl doesn't think she's good enough to love anyone, and has generally stopped dating for this reason. She feels that she'll ruin someone's reputation if they're with her, and if they don't have much of one to uphold, she's just downright scared to death she'll hurt them, or that they're using her generally high status to get themselves higher in the ranks. She doesn't know if she's good for much else, but don't think she'll let this happen to her so easily. Being an only child, her mother spent all her time spoiling her gorgeous daughter while her father was more often than not out at work. Her mother was blonde, making it evident the young girl takes after her father. Her parents expected an obnoxious teenager as she grew older, one that was common of children who got whatever they wanted, but instead she was the complete opposite. She learned as she got older to be more sparing with the money her parents would give her, and was satisfied by the less expensive clothes that most rich teens wouldn't be caught dead in. In fact, she always came home from shopping with extra to give back. Her mom and dad had no idea how it happened, but they weren't going to complain. Three years ago, when Maria was fourteen, her mother suddenly got very sick. Their father was still ever lost in his restless job, and so Maria took it upon herself to take care of her mom, as well as cleaning and cooking dinner and cleaning. She learned responsibility very early in life because she chose to, in order to care for her mom as she had always taken care of Mari. The teenager got sick alot when she was a baby, so she was just returning the favor. But things fell out of place after this. A year later, one night when her father returned home very, very late at night, the fifteen-year-old went downstairs to see him- having stayed up so late to greet him as always- and she was shocked when she saw him with another woman. She spoke out and asked who she was, and everything spiraled out of control. There was screaming, her mom woke up, and in the end her parents got divorced. Her mother regretted the decision though, she saw how much Maria's behavior towards all men changed after the incident. She thought badly of them all afterwards, thought none of them could ever sit still. Though her mom tried to make her understand it was just some men that were like that, but the bitter girl hardly ever listened. It wasn't long before her mom's health progressively got worse and worse, and by the end of the year the doctors were certain she wouldn't last another year. With little to no money now that her father had left, Mari got a job or two when she needed to, and took it upon herself to pay the bills and get the food. She cleans the small apartment they live in now, does the laundry and the dishes, and.. well, everything. Her mother could hardly do a thing now, but she tried to keep close to Maria even while she was running around, sitting her down to talk and rest once in awhile. Her daughter, despite being miserable with so much work at such a young age, only ever said the jobs were fun and easy, and that she didn't mind cleaning and cooking at all. She juggles school, work and house-work now, and though she's very bright she ends up missing quite a few of her classes. Not too many people know about her rough life at home, because at school she acts like nothing's wrong. She doesn't want people worrying is all.
